It comes from our belief that life is richer when we truly connect to the people and the world around us.About the location:The Four Seasons Resort Maldives is currently looking for a Director of Sales based in Germany or Europe.The Director of Sales is part of a diverse and dynamic team that provides award-winning experiences to our valued guests.The Director of Sales is a shared services leadership position responsible for managing the Sales Group for Four Seasons Maldives & Four Seasons Explorer Palau . As part of a shared services collection with shared ownership, the ability to embrace, collaborate, and support the “Shared-Services Model” while aligning efficiencies within the cluster is essential.This position is at a Department Head level and reports to the Regional Director of Marketing, Four Seasons Resorts Maldives.Special Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Director of Sales in Five Star luxury hospitality sales & marketing.
  • At least 5 years' experience in luxury leisure sales and understanding and relationships with key Accounts in critical geo markets: Europe in particularly Germany, Scandinavia, UK, USA, Middle East, China. Group Sales experience will be a critical advantage.
  • A three-year university degree or equivalent. German & European languages an advantage.
  • Proficiency in written and oral English with strong story telling skills.
  • Leadership skills to manage a high-performance sales team. Experience in managing multi-cultural & remote sales teams will be an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills, technologically savvy & comfortable in using automated sales platforms.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, professionalism and adaptability to shifting business environments are required.
  • Strong work ethic with confidentiality & well developed organizational and planning skills.
  • Regular travel between the resorts, Singapore & internationally will be required.
Major ResponsibilitiesSUMMARY
  • To uncover, prospect and sell group and individual business, in accordance with the objectives established in the Marketing Plan.
  • To monitor and motivate the sales activities and the sales team.
  • To ensure that all salespersons' quotas are met.
  • To ensure that sales activities, individual accounts and group bookings are focused and coordinated with transient demand to yield the maximum revenue per available room.
  • To maximize sales in all hotel revenue areas.
  • To implement and support all FS sales and marketing MOS.
The Role - Sales and Revenue Acumen
  • Heading the sales operation of two resorts, Private Island and Explorer cruising resort in addition to an individual sales portfolio. The ability to actively sell and manage his/her key accounts and territory as #1 priority.
  • To provide leadership and motivate the sales team to ensure sales managers and resorts financial targets are achieved.
  • To uncover, prospect and close group & FIT business, in accordance with the objectives established in the Marketing Plan.
  • To implement and support all FS sales and marketing MOS.
  • Strong leadership of emerging market penetration activities and prospecting for new accounts with the team.
  • To assist Regional Director of Marketing in the annual marketing plan and ensure its implementation.
  • Works closely with Senior Director of Revenue & Senior Director of Public Relations & Communications to identify areas of revenue generation and implementation.
  • Review pace monthly and assess both need and peak period strategies; collaborate with DOM on action plans to optimize team performance and execute agreed upon action items.
  • Lead Pipeline meeting. Strategize with team on conversion and business development.
  • Participate/lead the annual budget process for the group/leisure segment.
  • Understand and lead individual manager goal setting process including rationale and uses of tools such as territorial and historical assessments of geographic and segment performance.
  • The ability to train and guide sales department personnel in the performance of their duties as to specific position responsibilities, performance techniques, reporting procedures, etc.
  • The ability to conduct performance evaluations and follow up with sales department personnel.
  • Conduct reviews of all managers and coordinators and any other assigned direct reports.
  • Look at web presence, Meetings and Events website, sales websites (Preferred Partners, American Express) and take ownership of messaging and value dates, web listing, ROI of Cvent investment (if applicable) and work with the PR team for sales content updates.
  • Channel Profitability and impact on Room P&L / flow though of rates
  • Driving Demand and bridging demand gaps through agile segment shift to meet revenue goals.
  • Participate actively in Revenue Strategy Meetings and formulating tactical package components.
  • The ability to prepare reports as requested to develop a more informative database for improved management decision making and critical evaluation of work activities.
Internal Communications
  • The ability to oversee the coordination of various department's activities related to booked business to ensure customer satisfaction and hotel profitability.
  • The ability to conduct and/or attend meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among employees and to promote maximum morale, productivity and efficiency.
Hotel Systems
  • The ability to utilize computerized operational systems (Golden S&C, Opera, IDEAS, etc.).
