What will you do?
- Solution/system Design of System architecture and roadmap
- Utilize architecture best practices and standards in design and build
- Design and document re-usable and scalable frameworks and components
- Provide first level effort and cost assessments to departmental initiatives
- Coordinate & collaborate with counterparts in other departments to ensure technology solutions are built for the enterprise
- Assist management in making technology decisions by weighing in on risk and ROI
- Participate and contribute to yearly strategic initiative planning and funding discussions
- Collaborate with Product Management, Domain Architects and Lead Engineer to bring projects from concept to implementation
- Serves as primary technical solution design architect for one or more teams and their systems and integrations
- Serves as primary decision escalation resource for addressing architecture and integration issues affecting their team
- Continuously drive improvements in areas like performance, security, automation, quality, monitoring, and reliability of platforms
- Develops and maintains current and future-state architecture models and ensures all documentation is kept up to date
- Keeps up with industry best practices, technologies, architectures, trends, emerging technologies and develop proof of concept projects to validate new ideasQualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience including at least 2 years at a retail/supply-chain organization in - Solution Architect capacity
- Well experienced in the Retail/Supply chain industry, familiar with application systems and business practices in this realm
- Experience solutioning end-to-end full-stack applications, integration of SaaS and PaaS systems
- Experience building technology roadmaps spanning 3-5 years
- Experience in vendor evaluation and scoring of new technologies/tools
- Excellent team player, ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in mentoring technical team-members and providing technical leadership
- Familiarity with architectural frameworks and patterns
- Experience working in a SAFe ® /Agile environment
- Experience contributing to multiple medium to large size initiatives simultaneously
- Familiarity with streaming platforms (real-time data at massive scale like Confluent Kafka).
- Experience with AWS or other public clouds from a system design perspective
- Experience working with containers, Docker, Kubernetes or other container schedulers
- Experience with DevOps practices (i.e. CI/CD, Jenkins, Github, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Angular, datadog )
- Familiar with the project tools: Jira, Confluence, Teams, MS Office, SharePoint, Smartsheet and knowledge of agile practices
- Experience in other programming languages like JavaScript/TypeScript or Python is an assetSummary
