Designing and delivering added value energy solutions is what we do.The Chartering and Associated Services (CAS) department is looking for a Chartering Manager F/M responsible for the contracting and management of the fleet for the sea transport of Modules, floaters, large and heavy equipment along with break bulk.DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIESHer/ His main missions are to:
  • Provide a cost estimation for vessel sea transportation and offshoring installation during pre-EPC phases, including CAPEX preparation
  • Plan and mobilize the necessary resources in coordination with the chartering department head and the Logistics Manager on the project
  • Review vessel specifications and proposed execution plan, in coordination with the T&I department, Logistics technical management and Logistics management
  • Ensure that Vessel Owners and logistics services providers evaluation, selection and management is done in accordance with established and approved Project and group procedures, ensuring compliance
  • Ensure the contractual flow down is done from the main contract onto the Time Charter Party (TCP) terms and conditions and is accountable for the same
  • Lead the tendering process for the vessel selection and overall negotiations of the TCPs up to signature. Secure timely the required fleet
  • Ensure all sea transportation related project procedures and working procedures are issued on time, and approved by the client. Review Vessel owners procedures to ensure that marine and contractual aspects have been accounted for
  • Coordinate as required with Marine (Warranty) surveyor during the vessel inspections. Follow up any necessary remedial action by Vessel owners to close any findings resulting from the audit, to ensure that the vessel is fully compliant with all required code & specification before mobilization
  • Ensure timely mobilization of the vessels, in close coordination with Loadout and transport teams, and logistics manager. Follow-up as required the preparation works and be present as required during operations
  • Initiate all necessary actions to ensure that the sea transportation and associated services scopes are completed on schedule, and in accordance with contractual requirements, including making sure that all permits agreements and licenses are in place to proceed
  • Provide instructions for fleet manager (input for the sailing instructions), including voyage planning and request daily update on the vessel fleet status
  • Ensure adequate reporting of the vessel fleet to Logistics manager including the vessels ETA along with any concerns
  • Lead the chartering administrators and ensure procedures are followed, invoices are duly reviewed and settled on time, TCPs Terms & Conditions are respected, letters are duly issued and replied on time
  • Assist the Project Logistics Manager to evaluate and mitigate the risks related to the transport from contractual and operational points of view, and establish mitigation plans
  • Control all financial aspects related to the administration of TCPs
  • Lead incident team investigation (if any incidents involving vessels)
  • Participate to Constructability review, HAZIDs, and Mobilization readiness review
  • Identify in due time the scope change and notify Project Logistic Manager and Company consequently. Coordinate and lead price & schedule impacts preparation of change order
  • Ensure that the TCP packages Close-Out report is prepared and issued timely after project completion
  • Provide lessons learnt (contractual and operational) after each project
  • Safeguard overall the project's and the client's interests
  • Maintain a sound relationship with vessel owners
  • Enforce Group QA and HSE practices
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports on the head of Chartering
  • Lead the meetings with the vessel owners as well as interface meeting among suitable disciplines
  • Developing shipping plans for the chartered vessel to achieve the most competitive commercial goals.
  • Provide commercial estimates related to the vessels to the projects estimation teams during bidding phases.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS or MS in Engineering or chartering degree
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
  • Extensive knowledge of Time Charter party BIMCO contracts
  • Ability to plan, lead, and manage a multinational and multi-cultural team
  • 12+ years of experience in Projects, management, and chartering of Heavy Transport, Heavy Lifting, and Construction Vessels and barges. Subsea experience is a plus
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English as a minimum
