Senior CNC OperativeLeicester, LE7Up to £18 per hour depending upon experienceWe are looking for a Senior CNC Operative for a world leading manufacturer of precision engineered components.This is an opportunity to work for one of the largest engineering groups in the UK specializing in machining and assembling solutions for the automotive industry!We are looking for someone with experience of setting, programming and operating CNC milling machinery and leading a production team.The role is to lead a team of machine operatives to meet production targets and deadlines.You will monitor employees' outputs and drive productivity improvements.Working with the Production Manager you will be responsible for loading of the machines to agreed schedules and report on progress throughoutYou will be ensuring production of parts is planned and run to time frames, while ensuring quality throughout the processYou will be the first point of contact for the machine operatives in your team and will work with them and support them to achieve production gaols.There is the requirement to liaise with the design teams to execute the projects accurately.This role is 39 hours a week to be worked between 6am and 6pm Monday to Thursday.Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all employees adhere to the company health and safety policies
  • Report to the Production Manager any impact on output
  • Load machines with work to the Production Manager schedules
  • Ensure all finished products are removes to logistics by the end of the shift
  • Ensure all non-confirming products are labelled and moved to a QAS holding area
  • To keep white production boards up to date
  • Collect OEE timesheets from each shift and record the information on the production white boards
  • Monitor your team's output and drive productivity improvements
  • Report any quality issues to the Quality and Production Manager
  • Be the first point of contact for your team members
  • Carry out return to work interviews
  • Manage employee holiday forms
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness in all areas
  • Support in process improvement activities
Requirements:
  • Experience using CNC Milling Machines in the UK
  • Team Leading experience
  • CNC Machine Setting and programming Experience
  • Able to work to schedules and lead a team to achieve set targets
  • Previous experience coaching and motivating a team
  • Experience producing production reports
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Self-Motivated and able to work independently.
