About the job Τhe ideal credit controller is the professional who is responsible for managing the credit and collections processes within our company. His or her primary role involves ensuring that customers pay their invoices on time and minimizing the risk of bad debt for the company. He or she will play a crucial role in maintaining healthy cash flow and minimizing financial losses due to unpaid invoices. Responsibilities Keep track of accounts receivable balances and aging reports to identify overdue invoices and potential payment issues. Perform both reactive and proactive dept chasing, ensuring that customers’ debts are collected in line with contracted payment terms. Contact customers with overdue accounts through phone calls, emails, or letters to remind them of their payment obligations and negotiate repayment terms if necessary. Maintain professional and courteous communication while firm in pursuing collections. Investigate and resolve any disputes or discrepancies related to invoicing or payments, working closely with other departments such as sales, customer service, and finance. Follow up with clients, for all open balances to make sure they have the invoices and get a timeline of the payout. Keep constant follow-up till the final settlement for every case of delinquency arises any time. Build and maintain positive relationships with customers while ensuring adherence to credit terms and policies. Address customer inquiries and concerns regarding credit and payments promptly and professionally. Highlight any risks or potential problems of collecting open balances by contracting the respective sales re & the res of the finance team. Provide weekly/monthly reports of expected collections and analyze data for the purpose of the role. Ad hoc reporting to manager/top management and incremental information escalation for delays CFO, Sales Director, CEO and Legal Department. Make proposals in case of bad debts and take the appropriate initiatives. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting / Business Administration or relevant field is mandatory. Fluent in English, excellent verbal and written use. Proficient use of MS Office Knowledge and experience in S1 ERP or similar will be beneficial. Credit Management and Analytical skills. Communication and Negotiation skills High level of accuracy, good attention to detail, methodical approach. Background in the shipping field will be considered an advantage.
