The role of assistant bid manager supports the consultancy bid lead and bid managers with coordination and administration across the work winning lifecycle, with a focus on property bidding delivering tender responses in line with the company’s brand, position and processes. The assistant bid manager supports the bid manager in translating best practice, strategies and business objectives into smart, compelling, consistent, customer-focused, error-free documents and presentations, supporting bid management activity through department bid plans and escalating risk to bid lead where required.You’ll be responsible for:
  • Managing the process.
  • Standard Qualifications and tender co-ordination.
  • Reviewing and defining deliverables/deadlines and owners.
  • Bid Planning - Owning the bid programme, highlighting interdependencies and taking the lead in monitoring / reporting on progress
  • Kicking off/booking regular progress meetings and diary co-ordination.
  • Completing accurate, factual, focused responses, with correctly cross-referenced attachments.
  • Ensuring completion in the format required: Word, Excel or type answers into a client portal.
  • Submitting the SQ.
  • Ensuring all required reviews and signoffs are achieved in line with Mace governance.
  • Ensuring all deliverables are completed on time and deliver to deadline.

  • Seeking continuous improvement.
  • Capturing all new content within Work Winning Content Hub (Aftercare).
  • Recording and sharing lessons learnt/best practice with the wider Bid team.
You’ll need to have:
  • A degree qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline and with professional membership in APMP.
  • Experience specifically focussed on bidding, and experience of working in a professional services environment.
  • Digitally savviness in using Adobe InDesign and SharePoint.
  • Ability to build lasting client relationships and provide support to strong, motivated teams.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Very high standard of written English, skilled in editing copy to correct grammar, spelling and punctuation with the ability to review/edit existing responses.
You’ll also have:
  • An understanding of professional service and/or the building/property/consultancy industry.
  • Microsoft suite and Adobe software knowledge.
  • Microsoft SharePoint knowledge.
