- Overseeing the preparation of capital budgets, forecasts, and financial models to optimise resource allocation and maximize returns on investment.
- Collaborating with project managers and department heads to assess funding needs, monitor expenditure, and provide financial guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conducting financial analysis and risk assessments to inform decision-making and mitigate financial risks associated with capital projects.
- Providing regular reports and updates to senior management and stakeholders on the financial performance and progress of capital projects.
- Leading the year-end financial close process for capital projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Managing the capital budgeting process, including the development of annual budgets, variance analysis, and recommendations for budget adjustments as needed.
- Monitoring cash flow related to capital projects, ensuring liquidity for ongoing operations and identifying potential funding gaps or surpluses.
- A full accountancy qualification.
- Experience maintaining a fixed asset register made up of complex components.
- Ideally, a background working in the public sector but this is by no means essential.
- Experience managing a small team.
- Demonstrable experience working with and manipulating large data sets.
