We are looking for a Senior Project Manager for the NNF India Branch Office in New Delhi. The role will be specifically dedicated to the Novo Nordisk Foundation’s India Engagement Plan.With the Novo Nordisk Foundation’s 2030 Strategy, the Foundation aims to increase international reach by developing, expanding, and structuring strategic collaboration with Indian and global partners to further leverage scientific capabilities to impact global problems within human health, sustainability, and life science ecosystems.As Senior Project Manager, you will support the Foundation’s initiatives in India in collaboration with programme areas in the NNF Copenhagen HQ and partners in India. You will scope and contextualize ideas, engage with stakeholders and ultimately develop and implement stand-alone grants and open calls to strengthen the Foundation’s portfolio.You will join a global team of 19 colleagues within the Social and Humanitarian Programme area, located in our offices in Copenhagen, Nairobi and New Delhi. You will be based in New Delhi, India; however, frequent travel primarily in India will be required as part of the job. The Indian Branch Office is a newly established organisation, and we will continue to evolve and mature our virtual ways of working and partnership management. As Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for driving strategic activities and projects with key stakeholders in India. You will work in project teams together with project members from various programme areas located at the Copenhagen Headquarter (HQ), leading relevant workstreams. Your key tasks will be to:
  • Contribute significantly to developing and implementing projects in India, providing expert insight and enabling our partners to mobilize their professional fields of expertise even more effectively
  • Lead the coordination and partnering with partner institutions, including research institutions, universities and hospitals, the Government of India agencies, state government agencies, other foundations and international organisations in India
  • Represent the Foundation externally, building networks and maintaining relationships across relevant stakeholders
  • Contribute to, propose, and lead creation of documents (e.g., strategic, implementation, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, etc.)
  • Participate in virtual project teams, building relationships between NNF India Branch Office and the Novo Nordisk Foundation HQ
Our India Engagement Plan focuses on four areas: health equity, biotechnology medical science and a strengthened Danish-Indian bioscience ecosystem. Depending on your professional background, you will be a project member and coordinate closely with specific scientific programme areas located at the Foundation’s HQ.RequirementsProfessionally, you have over 10 years of relevant experience from research or government institutions, including government agencies, foundations, or academia, and preferably have international collaboration experience. As we have a small team in India, it is important that you are motivated by working hands on with communication, analysis, and stakeholder engagement alongside strategic planning.Ideally, you either have a master’s or PhD within biotechnology covering applications ranging from agriculture to food and biomanufacturing, or alternatively a medical degree or similar with expertise on the burden of Cardio Metabolic Diseases and their co-morbidities. In addition to this, you either have a strong network across stakeholders working within sustainability and climate or alternatively within the Indian health care system.It is important that you are able to and are motivated by being a catalyst to enable our partners with subject-matter expertise to succeed. You are professional, impact oriented and independent in your ways of working.
