Location: Caldwell, IdahoPosition Summary
As an Agronomy and Origination Intern, you will assist ADM Edible Bean Origination and Agronomy Specialists develop long-term producer relationships to secure supply chains critical to sustainably feed the worlds growing population. Sales and origination efforts for the territory will be done both outside and inside of the office. Additionally, you will be responsible for assisting agronomists and growers with agronomy related issues as necessary.What You'll Do:
- Responsible for assisting in the growth and maintenance of producer accounts
- Develop a working knowledge of the customer's operation as it relates to bean marketing and logistics. This may include how markets might provide selling opportunities, and how tailored risk management solutions might meet specific marketing goals for the producer
- Walk fields to help growers identify any possible issues with crop quality
- Assist growers and other ADM locations and personnel with spring seed logistics and deliveries as necessary
- Document contracted acres as defined in origination contracts
- Identify cross-selling opportunities within ADM's portfolio to benefit the producer
- Network to attain positive, collaborative relationships with internal colleagues across divisions
- Commitment to use Salesforce to track customer interactions and assemble critical business information.
- Engage with accounting and administrative staff to ensure timely and accurate accounting and contract management
- Effectively communicate competitive advantages and vulnerabilities to further regional development and success of ADM to key internal stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to form relationships with co-workers and growers in an ever-changing environment
- Pursuing a four-year degree in Horticulture or Agronomy or related field
- GPA of 2.8 or greater is preferred
- Open to relocation throughout the U.S.
- Have adequate transportation that allows you to go to and from your internship
