Downtown VancouverReference Number: CAN-BC-NO-058-180324SUMMARYReporting to the Payroll and Benefits Supervisor, the Payroll and Benefits Specialist, along with three payroll staff members, is responsible for processing a complex payroll and the administration of employee benefits for approximately 800 salaried, hourly, and unionized Canadian employees.EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONSPayroll
  • Prepares and processes payroll in ADP’s Workforce Now (WFN) for approximately 800 Canadian hourly, union, and salaried employees at multiple locations
  • Prepare payroll journal entries, reconciles, and prepares reports
  • Reconciles month-end and year-end accounts
  • Prepares Records of Employment and other government-related forms
  • Prepares and remits all government-related requests and payments
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date information in payroll and time and attendance database
  • Processes new hires, terminations, pay changes, garnishees, and other employment changes
  • Assists managers and employees with payroll related questions
  • Administers multiple collective agreements
  • Looks for areas to improve efficiencies in the payroll processing
Benefits Administration
  • Processes benefits enrolment, terminations, and changes
  • Reconciles monthly benefits statements and remits payments
  • Ensure vacation tracking and other benefits are accurately maintained
RequirementsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Proficient using ADP Workforce Now
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience with full-cycle Canadian payroll administration
  • Experience processing hourly and salaried payroll
  • Minimum one (1) years’ experience with benefits administration
  • Fundamental understanding of accounting
  • Knowledgeable about CRA regulations and provincial Employment Standards
  • Meticulous, accurate, and pays attention to details
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Well-developed communication skills (both oral and written)
EDUCATION
  • High school graduation
  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation or working towards completion of the designation.
