Our company values innovation, precision engineering, and adherence to regulatory standards.Position Overview: As a Compliance Engineer at our HGV manufacturing company, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our vehicles meet all required safety and regulatory standards, particularly focusing on Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA), Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA), and other relevant safety regulations. You will work closely with our engineering and design teams to integrate compliance considerations into the product development lifecycle.Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant regulations, standards, and directives related to HGV manufacturing, including IVA and VCA requirements.
- Product Testing and Certification: Plan, coordinate, and execute testing programs to ensure vehicles comply with safety and performance standards.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate documentation related to compliance testing, certifications, and regulatory submissions.
- Design Review: Collaborate with design and engineering teams to review product designs and ensure compliance considerations are integrated from concept to production.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and impact analyses related to regulatory compliance issues.
- Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality assurance processes to monitor compliance throughout the manufacturing process.
- Audit and Inspection: Coordinate and support audits and inspections by regulatory authorities and third-party certification bodies.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance compliance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5 years) in a compliance engineering role within the automotive or manufacturing industry, ideally with HGVs.
- In-depth knowledge of IVA, VCA, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Strong understanding of vehicle safety standards and testing procedures.
- Experience with compliance documentation and regulatory submissions.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Effective communication skills to interact with internal teams and external regulatory bodies.
- Professional certifications related to automotive compliance and safety (e.g., Chartered Engineer status).
- Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software for design review purposes.
- Experience in project management or leading compliance initiatives.
