Control Units & ElectronicsThe Control Units & Electronics department is a part of Vestas Power Solutions and is responsible for the control hardware solutions and development of low voltage electronics modules (incl. Mechanical, FPGA and firmware) for all Vestas turbines - both the existing and new fleet. As Mechanical Engineer you will join our experienced team consisting of people from Denmark and Portugal.Responsibilities
- Develop 3D-CAD design/models for Electronic Components in Wind Turbines
- Creation of 2D drawings and bill of materials based on design specifications
- Define GPS/GD&T on drawings reflecting manufacturing standard
- Monitor and coordinate the ECM process (Engineering Change Management)
- Ensure cost-efficient design and usage of standard parts as well as manufacturing standards
- Responsible for generating solutions to design challenges, fulfilling product and technology road maps
- M.Sc within Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or similar from an accredited University
- +2 years of relevant work experience
- Hands on Experience in CAD Software, PTC Creo Parametric preferred
- Engineering Drawings
- Experience with PLM Software, PTC Windchill preferred
- Experience with BoM Creation/Management
- 3D Design respecting manufacturing processes (e.g Sheet Metal, Machining, etc.)
- Bolted Mechanical/Electrical Connections
- Tolerance Chain Analysis
- Structural mechanics for different materials (Preferable using FEA)
- Ability to identify impacts of Fit, Form and Function from and for other systems/sub-modules
- Good English Communication Skills (meetings, reporting and presentations)
- The ideal candidate is keen on technology and a broad knowledge in Mechanical Engineering
- You have great stakeholder management and interpersonal skills at both a technical and non-technical level
- You have advanced problem-solving skills and possess the ability to coordinate conflicting priorities and multiple tasks
- You are a focused person who is goal-orientated and demonstrates a high level of commitment with the ability to work under minimal supervision
- You are practical, problem-solving, results-oriented and have a great sense of responsibility
- Moreover, it is essential that you have strong analytical skills and are detail oriented, enabling you to deliver results
- You are a person, able to successfully prioritize multiple tasks and timelines, to accurately meet deadlines
- You are culturally open-minded, a good communicator and able to establish relationships across geographical boundaries and cultures
- You have good written and verbal English skills with people at all levels across the organization
