Consult with clients on plan design and regulatory issues. Serve as a technical resource for the practice and clients. Participate in the career development of actuarial teammates and perform quality control reviews of junior team member work product.ESESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Serve as a trusted advisor to McGriff clients in the delivery of actuarial solutions for pension and related benefit plans.
2. Drive revenue growth for the practice and McGriff by actively participating in the business development process and managing revenue from assigned book of business for fee-based actuarial and administrative solutions for pension and related benefit plans.
3. Collaborate with McGriff Practice Sales Leader, Producers and Partners to develop a robust sales pipeline, share client referrals, and participate on new business opportunities.
4. Ensure client retention and expand services by maintaining strong client relationships, fulfilling client needs and resolving concerns in a timely and professional manner.
5. Perform review and certification actuarial valuations and projections, forecasts, accounting valuations, benefits calculations, and other deliverables in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Actuarial Standards of Practice.
6. Evaluate cost and benefit analysis of various plan designs and consult with clients on related plan design decisions. Coordinate non-discrimination record keeping/testing for pension plans (e.g. top-heavy limitations, maximum benefits and contributions, coverage, participation, and non-discrimination testing.) Review and consult on plan documents, plan amendments, trust agreements, Summary Plan Descriptions and other associated material, in the course of plan changes and general operational review and support.
7. Ensure the timely and accurate completion of client deliverables including actuarial certifications, government forms, benefit calculations, and other services. Peer review work of other actuaries. Be a technical resource to other actuarial services personnel.
8. Employ excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to be able to effectively communicate with clients and teammates to impart information and knowledge, and inspire confidence. Develop and deliver presentations to clients and to internal audiences.
9. Stay abreast of emerging legislation. Actively participate in legislative and compliance steering committees. Must understand the current regulatory and emerging regulatory climate and the resulting impact on clients' benefit programs.
10. Develop and maintain relevant actuarial models for the practice. Communicate to Practice Leader on and participate in continued process improvement for improved efficiencies, processes, client deliverables, changing actuarial standards, and risk mitigation.
11. Be a technical resource, trainer, and mentor to other actuarial teammates as they perform the above duties under the actuary's direction. Be a source of motivation to associates and share professional knowledge formally and informally to foster teammate development.QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science, Statistics, or other analytical field or equivalent education and related training
2. Associate of the Society of Actuaries
3. Ten years of experience in an Actuarial Consulting practice or related field
4. Strong problem solving skills
5. Exceptional organizational and multiple project management skills
6. Attention to detail and quality oriented
7. Ability to effectively work in a team environment
8. Good analytical and writing skills
9. Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment
10. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
11. Ability to travel, occasionally overnightPreferred Qualifications:
1. Fellow of the Society of Actuaries
2. Extensive client consulting or business development experience in an actuarial position
3. Membership in the Conference of Consulting Actuaries (MCA, FCA) or American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA)
4. Other advanced Degrees
