This is more than just a job; this is a legacy.We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Strategy & Business Development Manager, to be involved in prospecting world changing technology by developing meaningful relationships with some of largest entities across the globe.Reporting to the Head of Industrial Markets for Rolls-Royce SMR, this role will work as a key part of the team responsible for progressing strategic opportunities relating to the sales and deployment of Rolls-Royce SMR compact nuclear power stations and the growth of the wider Rolls-Royce SMR business. With a strong track record of customer business and strategic account development, senior stakeholder management the role will be for a motivated self-starter with the ability to represent the company nationally and internationally.You will be working independently within a team of 20 to deliver market and customer strategies and new sales campaigns which will in turn develop partnerships, increase customer satisfaction and, ultimately, secure orders.Confidence can sometimes hold us back from applying for a job. This could include:
  • Ability to propose, get business endorsement and subsequently launch and manage a plan that best enables Rolls-Royce SMR to achieve a long-term or overall aim, leveraging our strengths and mitigating our weaknesses.
  • Ability to systematically identify, analyse and implement actions that will develop trusted relationships with new customers, and enhance relationships with existing customers.
  • You will be a technically minded, able to work alone, as well as part of an integrated team with shared vision in a flexible and agile working environment. You should also be able to identify the root causes of both internal and customer problems and develop effective and / or innovative solutions.
  • Practical experience of senior external relationship management with commercial and Governmental organisations, ideally within the nuclear industry and / or the energy industry setting is highly beneficial, though candidates from other industries such as aerospace and marine will be considered.
  • You will have excellent communication skills with a proven record of public speaking and engagement with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a semi or non-expert audience.
Pay and BenefitsWe anticipate paying a competitive, a performance related bonus of up to 12.5%, an attractive pension scheme with 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
