  • Lead Mechanical Engineer leads the mechanical projects team and he/she is responsible for technical solutions and leading and coordination of work within the dedicated project mechanical team. He/she is responsible for delivering a robust, proven, and reliable mechanical solution in the required time, quality and cost.
  • Reports to Application Leader based on assignment to particular project.
  • Leads all PD tasks related to successful Job1 and profitable products in terms of mechanical engineering.
  • Develops concepts for innovative products about feasibility, cost, lifespan customer, and legal requirements.
  • Is responsible for mechanical BOM release & updates.
  • Applies and ensures application of the best design and process practices ( DGL, Rules ), standard parts, Lessons Learned, CAD standards and CAD methodology and customer-specific requirements.
  • Provide suggestions for creating and updating DFMEA.
  • Ensure the application of proper data management system and information exchange within the project team.
  • Cooperates with External and Internal customers and suppliers from first product concepts till J1 +90
  • Cooperates in creation of DFMEA, CAE plan, DV plan, component test, and certification in compliance with the CDP/VPDS/VBOS, customer specifications as well as legal requirements.
  • Actively works within the team to support successful DV/PV and delivery of PPAP on time.
  • Supports Technical Design Review (TDR) of given project. On request participate in TDR organized by other teams to provide feedback.
  • Responsible for the mechanical feasibility of the projects proven by checklist status.
  • Participates in customer & quality audits for given products/projects if required.
  • Scouts for innovation opportunities, and cost optimizations and actively participates in DCRM sessions and participates in their implementation of the project.
  • Participates in benchmarking and based on the information gathered gives incentives to improve standards.
  • Provides technical support to new business development (i.e. VQF, BOM, presentation, feasibility)
  • Mentors new PD engineers
  • In cooperation with the legislation team is responsive to develop technical solutions without infringing on existing non-company Intellectual properties. In case a new design solution is invented or used during the product design process ensure that all required steps for Intellectual property protection of this new design solution are initiated.
  • Prepares and shares given project Lessons Learned
  • Performs other activities according to the superior's instructions, which do not contradict the positions of the position.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT(S):
  • University degree in machinery or mechanical engineering
  • English on advanced level (B2)
  • German or French language as an advantage
  • MS Office, Windows - good
  • CAD (CATIA, NX) - good
  • GD&T - good
  • DFMEA - good
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT(S):
  • More than 3 years of experience in mechanical design, plastic injection technology and tool design knowledge
  • Experience with technical leading of small projects
  • Experience with team leading is advantage
  • Experience with technical presentations to customer and communication to customer on daily basis
