The Life Sciences Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving growth within the company. Collaborate with various teams, including sales, marketing and other Business Development professionals within the organization to identify synergies and achieve mutually beneficial goals.Duties and responsibilitiesResponsible for:
  • Actively seek out and identify new business prospects within the Life Sciences Sector across Ireland and mainland Europe.
  • Build long-term relationships with potential clients and prospects.
  • Assessment and pursuit of leads in line with Design & Build, Modular and Pharma Business Unit Strategies.
  • Build rapport with decision-makers to gain approval for business development initiatives.
  • Conduct thorough market research to understand industry trends and competition.
  • Identify market opportunities and growth potential.
  • Maintain construction proposal templates and methodologies to support our offering across the Business Units.
  • Provide support to Engineering Team in development of concept designs and value engineering options for technical proposals.
  • Liaise with Client/Design Team as necessary during Pre-Contract Stage and arrange site visits/meetings as required.
  • Provide support to the Estimating Team in the development of Budgets and Tender submissions.
  • Participate in Tender Adjudication Process to achieve sign off in line with Authority Matrix in advance of bid submission.
  • Engage in post-tender negotiations with Client as necessary.
  • Provide handover to the Operations Team on transition to Post Contract activities including development of project overview and agree next steps with internal stakeholders.
  • Build long-term relationships with Supply Chain to support product development and innovation to enhance our offering within the sector.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, prospects, and internal teams.
  • Negotiate contract terms and make mutually beneficial proposals.
  • Present sales projections and revenue forecasts in line with agreed budgets.
Qualifications:
  • Building services or Mechanical Engineering Degree
  • Construction Management or Surveying third level qualification
Ability and knowledge of:
  • Construction Contracts, Procurement Strategies
  • Construction Methods & Technology
  • Architectural Design
  • Mechanical & Electrical Design preferable
  • Local Subcontract Market
  • Pricing Levels
  • Negotiation Skills
Analytical Skills:
  • Strong analytical abilities are essential for conducting effective market research and understanding competition.
  • Use research insights to contribute to business growth strategies.
