Requires four (4) years managing specialty park operations or closely related experience based on area of park assignment, including one (1) year lead work/supervisory experience and must be Jeff Ellis & Associates certified or obtain a Jeff Ellis & Associates license within 30 days of hire.Special Certifications and Licenses Required:
Possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E Driver's License with authority to drive a county vehicle for duration of appointment.Preferences:
Aquatic Facility Operator Certification (AFO)
Jeff Ellis Lifeguard instructor license
Jeff Ellis program coordinator license
CPRP and/or CPRE

All candidates must complete an extensive ten (10) year work history verification and criminal background check which includes post-offer physical examination, clearing of DCF's Affidavit of Good Moral Character ( ). Ability to maintain authorization to operate a county vehicle/equipment.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.Supervises day-to-day operations based on the area of assignment to include program implementation, staff support and supervision, customer service, facilities maintenance and security, and compilation of various operational reports related to safety, attendance and personnel issues, revenue, and inventory.Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates employees.Ensures compliance with directives, policies, procedures, laws, contracts, agreements, and health and safety standards as it pertains to a park operation within a governmental agency.Submits requisitions for materials and supplies for operations and maintenance.Monitors budgets and records of revenue and expenditure based on area of assignment.Responds to issues within park, complaints, comments, and requests based on the area of assignment - communicates with staff and the public, explains policies and procedures, resolves issues, and follows up as appropriate.Conducts periodic inspections of assigned park area; observes deficiencies in operation, safety, and condition; issues verbal or written directives to correct deficiencies.Explains and interprets rules and regulations, fees, and charges for area of assignment.Communicates with managers/supervisors, administrative staff, volunteers, and the public in a positive and professional manner.Maintains professional and positive relationships with subordinates, peers, supervisors, and stakeholders.Performs related work as assigned.WORK ENVIRONMENTPhysical DemandsPhysical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.Performs light work that involves walking or standing most of the time and involves exerting up to 25 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis, and over 50 pounds occasionally with skill, adeptness and speed in the use of fingers, hands or limbs on repetitive operation of mechanical or electronic office equipment or tools within moderate tolerances or limits of accuracy.Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment)Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.Involves routine and frequent exposure to extreme heat and/or cold; wet or humid conditions.
