- Taking the client lead and developing strong working relationships
- Working with the directors, supporting them in new business as a leader in the field
- Creating and deciphering design briefs to ensure clear communication throughout the company
- Creating design concepts and confidently presenting them to clients and investors
- Working on FF&E specifications & schedules, including costings
- Coordinating FF&E with other internal teams
- Overseeing all FF&E procurement, taking responsibility for POs specification sheets and deliveries
- Working closely with consultants and external suppliers
- Working with the wider team in the spatial planning and designing of each project
- Sourcing/researching new suppliers, ascertaining suitability, and developing the supplier database
- Negotiating, coordinating, and liaising with suppliers to ensure that all specifications & deliveries meet deadlines & budgets
- Overseeing the installation of projects, including styling requirements & overseeing photoshoots
- Liaising with PM’s and installation teams to ensure smooth delivery and installation of the projects
- Supporting the wider company in its sustainability targets
- Reporting to the design director on tasks and deliverables
- Managing one FF&E Designer.
- Diploma or degree in interior design, interior architecture or architecture
- Proven experience working on both residential and hospitality projects
- An extensive knowledge of and relationships with the suppliers of contract furniture
- In-depth knowledge of products, materials and suppliers
- General knowledge of interior architecture with the ability to read and understand technical drawings, including furniture shop drawings
- Proven experience in managing procurement and installations (budgeting, scheduling etc)
- Ability to understand and formulate design decisions and present them for discussion
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience as a line manager overseeing junior and intermediate designers
- Understanding of the financial aspects of running a design project, beneficial but not essential
- Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
- Experience using Estimac or similar
- Legal right to work in the UK.
- Salary: Circa £55,000, flexible for the right candidate
- 23 days holiday + BH + Christmas and NY closure
