MIDAS Software EngineerWarton, near Preston (2-3 days per week onsite) – 12 month duration – £34.77 p/h PAYE basic (£39.83 including holidays pay) £45.88 UmbrellaWe are looking to recruit a Software Engineer for our aerospace/defence client, based at Warton Lancashire in the Future Systems MIDAS Team. Working in this role the successful applicant will support the design, and development of the MIDAS Mission Management system for the next generation of military platforms across Air, Land and Sea.This will entail working within an Agile framework and utilising model based system engineering techniques to create the MIDAS productResponsibilities:As MIDAS Software Engineer, you will be responsible to the MIDAS Software Group Lead to support the development of Software Design, Code and Test required to support:
  • Engineering planning activities
  • Liaise with MIDAS Systems & Test Engineers
  • Software Design
  • Software Code
  • Software Test
  • Safety & Security
  • Supervision and support to junior team members
The individual:
  • Proven ability in Systems/Software Engineering
  • Proven ability with software coding in C++/Misra C++
Knowledge or experience of any of the following would be beneficial:
  • Knowledge of integration within a delivery programme for Systems and Software
  • Working knowledge of the Engineering Lifecycle and associated governance
  • Knowledge or awareness of Model Based Engineering tools (Cameo)
  • Awareness of Agile methodology supported by the Atlassian toolset would be advantageous
  • Knowledge within the Mission management and Autonomy fields is advantageous
  • Requirements Management (DOORS)
  • System Definition (SysML/CAMEO)
  • Data Modelling
  • SysML/UML
  • Auto Code Generation
  • System /Software Re-Use the candidate should be able to demonstrate
  • Willingness to tackle difficult problems with a steep learning curve
AdditionalPlease note, due to the sensitive nature of the project involved all applicants must be capable of gaining a UK MOD Security Clearance to SC level. You will be able to start while the SC is pending.
