We’re looking for a Senior Android developer to join the mobile app team with our client AGL. This will be all about giving AGL customers the power to track usage, keep an eye on solar panels and home batteries, pay bills, and more. This is a contract role based in Melbourne CBD in a hybrid working environment for an initial six months duration.You’ll be an important and key player responsible for the analysis and development of functionality for AGL’s Android apps. This includes contributing to automation testing, continuous integration pipelines and deployment activities. You will work closely with the engineering lead and solution architects to form and define solutions that align with Android app development best practices. You will be working in an Agile environment and work closely with cross functional teams including SAP, Data, Digital and Analytics. Making the app accessible for all is important, so you’ll have an opportunity to work with Android accessibility APIs as well.You will have:

Experience developing Android apps using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Retrofit and Espresso
Solid knowledge about Google’s Material design guidelines & Android app best practices
Experience working with continuous integration & delivery pipelines, ideally using Azure DevOps
Familiarity with common mobile application design patterns & the OWASP mobile app security best practices
Experience integrating with REST APIs
An understanding of test-driven development, continuous integration and building high quality Android apps
Experience monitoring app performance using tools such as New Relic, Android Vitals and Azure Application Insights
Previous use of Atlassian tools including Jira and Confluence
Strong communication and presentation skills
Previous experience working within the scaled agile framework (SAFe) is highly regarded
