Reporting to Operations ManagerPurpose and objectives of the role:
The Site Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of site operatives, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and managing project execution to meet quality and efficiency standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.Main duties and responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
  • Supervise and mentor site operatives, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the successful completion of tasks.
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively, assigning duties and tasks based on individual strengths and project requirements.
  • Foster a positive work culture that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Project Management:
  • Plan and organise daily work activities, including task assignments, resource allocation, and equipment deployment.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to communicate project status, address concerns, and resolve issues.
Safety Compliance:
  • Enforce safety policies, procedures, and regulations to minimise risks and prevent accidents/incidents.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Provide safety training and toolbox talks to site operatives, emphasising the importance of hazard awareness and safe work practices.
Quality Assurance:
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure workmanship meets or exceeds client expectations and industry standards.
  • Conduct inspections and quality checks throughout the project lifecycle, identifying deficiencies and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, inspection records, and incident reports.
Client Relations:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on-site, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing updates on project status.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, promoting customer satisfaction and fostering repeat business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and preferences, seeking opportunities to add value and exceed expectations.
Equipment and Resource Management:
  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of equipment and vehicles, ensuring they are in good working condition and properly utilized.
  • Coordinate with logistics and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment to the worksite.
  • Manage inventory levels and equipment usage to optimise efficiency and minimize waste.
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in industrial cleaning, hazardous waste management, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within the industrial cleaning or environmental services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, hazardous materials handling procedures, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment and tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in using computer software for project management and documentation.
Key KPI’s:
  • All projects delivered on time, high quality and within budget.
  • Carry out each job in line with the RAMS provided.
  • Ensure all Operatives are wearing applicable PPE on all sites.
