In addition to the exceptional computing power they provide, QPUs are highly energy efficient and will contribute to a significant reduction in the carbon footprint of the HPC industry.Job DescriptionAs part of our strong growth, we are recruiting a Policy & Standards Manager to oversee and implement PASQAL’s standardization strategy to lead the creation of standards in quantum computing and sustainability and position PASQAL’s technology at the national, European and international levels.In this context, your main missions will be as follows:
  • Represent PASQAL in various standardization committees and groups (CEN/CLC, ISO, IEEE-SA, AFNOR) and advocate for PASQAL’s interests.
  • Lead as convenor of the working group WG3 on quantum computing and simulation at CEN/CLC.
  • Lead as co-chair of the P3120 working group on quantum computing architecture at IEEE-SA.
  • Collaborate with the technical teams at PASQAL to provide adequate technical input into standardization projects.
  • Manage internal project(s) on neutral atom quantum computing and sustainability and develop a related plan for standardization.
  • Rally quantum experts and expand pool of active experts to contribute to the standardization effort, through participation in meetings and international conferences; including with French companies (in France and outside of France) to ensure a stronger voice for France and ensure quorum.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships within the working groups to foster consensus and collaboration and lead negotiations.
  • Prepare and follow-up meetings, reporting (internal and external).
This position will report to our Lead of Academic Partnerships.About youYou graduated from a Masters or PhD in Technology and Innovation Management, International Law, Physics, etc. or relevant fields and have a proven experience of at least 3 years in standardization, policy, and project management.Must haves:
  • Deep understanding of the geopolitical stakes of standardization.
  • Good knowledge in quantum computing or sustainability.
  • Excellent negotiation, listening and communication skills.
  • Experience of translating complex policies for multiple audiences.
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, and forge strong, long-lasting relationships.
  • Experience in leading international and national groups.
  • Self-motivated, diplomat, servant leadership, team spirit, strategic thinking, organized, creative.
  • English fluency
