Systems EngineerSet up in 2011, Synoptix is rapidly becoming recognised as one of the UK’s most capable suppliers of systems engineering expertise and know-how. We have built up an enviable customer base in defence and aerospace and are now seeking to extend our presence and influence in the rail and public utility sectors – all of which are showing a growing appetite for the type of rigorous system engineering we advocate.We contribute to some of the foremost engineering projects in the UK, typically supporting large and complex engineering programmes through the application of systems engineering principles. Some of our key projects include support to various submarine programmes, adaptive camouflage for the British Army, Architectural support on Typhoon and F-35 platforms, cyber security support to EW systems. Our customers benefit from lean delivery of agile projects, utilising best practices developed across a range of industries.The Role:Having taken on some exciting new customers and projects of late, we are looking to enhance our internal capabilities in order to meet growing demand from our customer base. As such, it is an exciting time to join a rapidly growing company and would allow the opportunity to have a meaningful influence on the direction of Synoptix as well as your own career.As a Systems Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a number of our projects helping to deliver solutions to our customers. In this role, you will be able to support technical systems engineering work, enhance your project management skillset and also be involved in team leadership of junior engineers if this interests you. We can also give you the opportunity to work on projects across the systems engineering lifecycle in multiple domain areas.Our Requirement:
  • · We are looking for a Systems Engineer with ideally a 2:1 degree in a relevant discipline.
  • · You should have positively contributed to a number of projects and played a key or lead role in at least one of them.
  • · You must be organised, hardworking, and have good communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and be open to new ideas and ways of working.
We are interested in any experience of the following skills but they are not essential for you to apply:
  • Requirements analysis and management
  • MBSE approaches and tools
  • Systems integration
  • Synthetic environments and models
  • Knowledge of systems engineering tools (e.g. DOORS, Enterprise Architect, Cameo Systems Modeler, Jira)
