- Lead the development and implementation of our National Strategy and support the implementation of international programmes in alignment with the organisation’s strategic priorities.
- Develop effective relationships, programmes and projects that support the sector and drive forward the national role of National Museums Scotland
- Devise projects to secure external funding for national and international programmes
- Be the recognised point of contact for the Scottish Museum sector, providing advice and developing relationships internally and externally
- Lead, motivate, support and develop the National & International Partnerships team.
- Knowledge of best practice in museums and heritage, including collections, legal and public policy matters
- Developed knowledge of Scottish and UK cultural / heritage sector
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills including the ability to influence, build partnerships and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience of developing, implementing and evaluating strategy and programmes with internal and external impact
- Skilled in project, budget and resource planning and management.
