Senior CAE Engineer

• Generally assigned to projects to develop complex components, sub-assemblies, and systems. Assignments may include programs with new products and new customer specifications, or current product for improvements.
• Responsible for the complete CAE of the designated products including, but not limited to seat system, component and mechanism analysis, evaluation of system mass, inertia and center of gravity, calculation of load, displacement, velocity, and acceleration.
• Perform multibody dynamic analysis utilizing ADAMS or other similar software.
• Set up CAE/ADAMS models for complex seat mechanisms and provide output results.
• Optimize seat mechanisms based on ADAMS analysis results and design of experiment
• Investigate the impacts to mechanism behavior caused by dimensional variation. Set up scheme to evaluate major dimensional variation contributors to the seat mechanism
• Develop, deploy, and document CAE/ADAMS methodologies.
• Conduct correlation and calibration studies in collaboration with product and test engineers.
• Communicate simulation results effectively to design personnel to provide engineering direction on the design at all stages.
• Serve as a key customer interface (internal and external) to present CAE/ADAMS simulation results and conclusions to internal and external customers to successfully negotiate and influence design direction.
• Work closely with product development engineering to offer timely solutions that positively impact project costs, timing, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Consult and collaborate with personnel in various engineering and design activities relative to product development requirements. Conducts effective communications within the project team and the customer, supplier, manufacturing, and quality communities with guidance from engineering management and senior engineering personnel. Maintains all appropriate documentation.
• Independently prioritize the completion of tasks and resolution of issues to ensure compliance to program deliverables. Contribute to the development of project timing and set targets to manage release of product deliverables per Master Timing Plan.
• Maintain Good Housekeeping of the area
• Ensure adherence to company, departmental and health and safety systems and policies to meet legislative requirements.
• Supports Internal / External Audit efforts regarding ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949 Certification for remote site location (Group Office).
• Able to travel at least 25%, including possible international travel
