We've got what you're looking for.Job Description:We have been a leader in Integrated design and delivery of civil infrastructure for more than 75 years and are looking for experienced Highway Design Engineers at various levels of experience to add to our team in New York, including our Syracuse, Buffalo, and NYC offices. We have a great backlog of work, in both conventional and design/build project delivery and are looking for strong leaders with the ability to lead projects and mentor a team of engineers and designers.We are seeking engineers for the landmark NYSDOT I-81 Viaduct Project. This $2.0B project, the biggest in NYSDOT's history, is changing the fabric of Central New York. We are looking to add engineers at various levels, including Engineer II, Senior Engineer, Principal Engineer, and Supervising Engineer, to this landmark project.The successful candidates can work from our offices in New York City, Buffalo, Syracuse, or Newark, and we are open to those who live elsewhere in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut to work remotely from home, with travel to meetings in New York as needed.Working with us means being with a global team that has worked on award-winning programs and embraces new technologies to keep us at the forefront of the transportation market. Our company culture embraces diversity, inclusion, and overall work-life balance.In this position you will perform highway, interchange, and street design including geometric design, 3D modeling, drainage design, work zone traffic control and construction staging, construction specification development and material quantity calculations. You will utilize engineering software and interface with CAD designers, as well as other engineers and subcontractors. Keys to your success will be your civil engineering acumen and highway design background.RESPONSIBILITIES:Independently develop and/or supervise the creation of engineering products that meet customer quality requirements. This includes defining the problem, establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status.Typical products may include detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.Optimize plan, profiles and cross sections integrating drainage and utility information. Generate temporary and permanent construction quantities and use visualization to resolve conflicts.Support multi-disciplinary design development teams for project executionQualifications:4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)Strong NYSDOT highway design experience3 + years' experience working with 3D design of major road projects.New York P.E. required for candidates with 6 or more years.Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required.Knowledge of Bentley's InRoads, and OpenRoads Designer applications desired.Opportunities to travel and support major infrastructure projects across North America.Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Not Applicable/NoneThis position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.For more than 75 years, our experts have designed and delivered the critical infrastructure that connects and protects communities around the world.
