- Conduct on-site evaluations to assess project scope, conditions, and potential challenges.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, contractors, and clients to clarify project requirements and specifications.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to generate detailed and accurate cost estimates.
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, including itemized breakdowns of costs, timelines, and project deliverables.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure competitive pricing.
- Review and negotiate contracts, change orders, and other project documents as needed.
- Provide ongoing support to project teams by addressing inquiries, clarifying specifications, and resolving issues related to cost estimation.
- Monitor project progress and budgetary performance to identify potential cost overruns or savings opportunities.
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to source materials and subcontractors at competitive prices.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as required.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and project documents for future reference and analysis.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Drywall Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on drywall installations.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to accurately quantify materials, labor, and equipment requirements.
- Extensive knowledge of drywall construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Experience using construction estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to producing accurate and thorough cost estimates.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to review and negotiate contracts and change orders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software applications.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
