Reporting directly to the SVP Finance Operations, this new role will assist the SVP Finance Operations in meeting the Finance team’s overall objective of being a best-in-class Finance organization and service provider to the rest of IMAX.You’ll be integral in supporting improvements in both the efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance organization in order to provide world class service to business partners within IMAX. We’re looking for someone who will help to investigate and resolve areas of inefficiency in order to optimize the effectiveness of the Finance team, including Accounting, Reporting, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit and Financial Planning.If you’re someone who wants to learn all aspects of Finance in order to get a well-rounded learning experience, build a unique in-depth knowledge of various areas of IMAX and fast track their career within the company, this is the perfect role for you.What You’ll Do:Investigate and reconcile various general ledger accounts at a Company Code level, including creation of detailed process documentation.Support various initiatives including amalgamations and closures of inactive wholly owned subsidiaries.Meet with various members of the Finance team on a regular basis to get updates and document progress on various enhancement initiatives that they have committed to completing, including helping raise issues up to the right level and removing roadblocks as identified.Fill in short term as needed for staffing gaps due to departures. This may include documentation prior to departures, stepping in to support on transition, reconciliations, or reviews as needed until replacements are found.
