Job DescriptionResponsibilities
As a Footwear Technician, you will be responsible for:
  • Operating standard laboratory equipment in compliance with Health and Safety assessments and test methods to perform routine physical testing of safety footwear.
  • Taking charge of specific aspects of laboratory and stores maintenance and upkeep.
  • Engaging in continuous improvement activities.
  • Preparing samples and conducting testing work within agreed deadlines.
  • Adhering to UKAS requirements, including maintaining personal training records.
About You
Candidates must have GCSEs in Maths, English, and Science (NVQ Level 3) and be proficient in MS Word and Excel. The successful candidate will be expected to meet deadlines, produce accurate and detailed results, and work both independently and as part of the laboratory team.You should demonstrate strong organizational skills, time management, meticulous attention to detail, and planning abilities. While previous experience in a physical test laboratory and knowledge of footwear construction and materials is advantageous, full training will be provided. Flexibility, tenacity, and a positive attitude are essential for this role.
