We are seeking an experienced Group Financial Controller to join our team on a 12-month contract basis. This role is crucial for maintaining the highest standards of compliance with accounting policies and processes within the Domain Group. Its main responsibilities include producing timely and accurate group statutory results, overseeing external audits, offering expert advice on technical accounting matters, and fulfilling the Domain Group's external reporting and disclosure obligations. Additionally, this role is committed to driving continuous process and reporting improvements.Reporting Line: You'll report directly to the Head of Financial Control, Treasury, and Risk.Who are you?We're seeking a candidate with extensive experience in Corporate or Group reporting roles, coupled with strong leadership skills and a passion for excellence. You should be adept at communication across all levels, possess a keen eye for detail, and be committed to continuous improvement in financial procedures and outcomes.Some of the responsibilities required of the ideal candidate include:Prepare precise consolidated results for the Domain Group, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards.Oversee the month-end process for the Group, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of consolidated financial statements.Manage the half-year review, year-end audit process, and other assurance processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.Support the process for Audit & Risk Committee (A&RC) and Board reportingSupervise the outsourced record-to-report team to maintain efficient and accurate financial reporting processes.Develop and maintain group accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.Provide ongoing updates and training to the corporate accounting team on accounting standards and regulatory requirements.Interpret and respond to releases from regulatory bodies, reporting on their impact and planned actions.Offer accounting advice and conduct due diligence for potential acquisitions, divestitures, and other commercial ventures to ensure sound financial decisions.Oversee Corporate Accounting and support reporting for Investor Relations to maintain transparency and accuracy in financial reporting.Drive a focus on continuous improvement in accounting processes and internal/external reporting to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.You Should Have:Extensive relevant experience, with a significant portion in Corporate or Group reporting roles.Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, across all levels.Strong leadership abilities and a track record of successfully managing teams.Lead by example: exhibit professionalism, supportiveness, and collaboration as a Finance leader, inspiring teams to excel.Demonstrated commitment to continuously improving financial and management accounting procedures and results.In-depth knowledge of corporate disclosures required for an Australian ASX listed company.Strong technical accounting knowledgeExperience with A&RC and Board reporting.Extensive experience in external reporting.Proven ability to effectively liaise with and manage internal and external stakeholders.Advanced skills in spreadsheet and data manipulation.Accounting or Finance degree (required)A CA/CPA or equivalent qualification (required)Big 4 experience (desirable)Why join us?We're the right size business for you to make a real impact, with a workplace culture where you can be you.
