- Establish and maintain relationships with key military personnel and key military agencies in region.
- Establish and shape requirements for applicable programs utilizing Viasat's portfolio of products and services.
- Lead, develop and execute capture strategy development for programs within region.
- Develop and maintain best-practice capture processes.
- Continually gain knowledge of Defence Funding, key Governmental Policies, changes and trends
- Provide assistance to key stakeholders (end-users, acquisition authorities, OEMs etc) to support the successful execution of their programs.
- Respond to Requests for Information, Requests for Proposals / Tenders and Requests for Quotes.
- Provide reports & returns to Management in accordance with established processes & procedures.
- Provide mandated reports & returns in accordance with Canadian (and regional) compliance and governance regulation.
- Develop, establish & maintain teaming / strategic arrangements with other companies in-region (as required)
- Establish and maintain relationships with Market Representatives and Support Agencies in-region (as required).
- Support the regional Director in establishing and maintaining relationships with key Government & Political stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, sales and/or business experience is desirable.
- 5+ years within CAF, preferably including with experience within CANSOFCOM / Capability Requirements (ADMIM/DGIM / Services) is an asset.
- 5+ years in Business Development/Sales/Marketing experience from Defence Industry
- Experience working with large military contractors.
- Ability to work in a team and autonomously in a highly professional environment.
- Proven experience with planning and organizational skills.
- Solid communicator with the ability to direct multi-discipline teams and senior industry, Defence and Government officials.
- Ability to pre-empt problems and create opportunities for improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Proven ability to independently develop and determine approaches to solutions in a practical and creative manner.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels.
- Willingness to constantly update knowledge in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to handle multiple, concurrent tasks, which have competing demands.
- Proven experience with marketing, managing bid development and providing oversight of project administration.
- Strong technical sales background and ability to understand key terminology within the satellite, IP and Carrier markets.
- Strong understanding of Cyber security as well as type 1 encryption technology.
- Understanding of the Government and Military Markets across Land, Sea and Air domains.
- Strong Understanding of the Telco marketplace will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with Inmarsat and Viasat products and services.
- Canadian Citizen or Canadian Permanent Resident- required.
- Secret (Level II) - must qualify for as it is required of the position.
- This role requires travel, both domestically and internationally. The employee in this role will be required, on an irregular basis and provided reasonable notice, to travel sometimes for periods exceeding 7 days, and if required to travel on weekends to meet on-site weekday commitments.
- Must be committed to on-going personal development.
- The post-holder must have and maintain a Current drivers' license for the employed location.
