- Experience within a field base commercial / sales role
- A strong background of selling customs brokerage services is highly desirable
- Proven experience winning new business within the freight forwarding or customs sector
- Strong knowledge of the freight forwarding industry, including market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully acquiring new clients and driving revenue growth.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Commercial acumen and experience building sales pipelines, developing proposals and in negotiating commercial contracts.
- Ability to think strategically, identify opportunities, and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in using freight management systems and other relevant software applications.
- Avid industry learner, naturally curious and highly passionate about the logistics sector.
- Initiating sales through phone calls and face-to-face visits.
- Leveraging existing networks across various levels.
- Establishing an affiliate program to expand reach.
- Negotiating and cultivating large-scale contracts with prominent UK and EU manufacturers.
- Maintaining and updating CRM systems, generating regular sales pipeline reports.
- Collaborating with the General Manager to devise innovative sales strategies for the business
- Creating a sales roadmap to guide business growth.
- Coordinating with the Customs Tech team to develop digital solutions for clients.
- Ensuring clients are informed about new platform developments.
- Proactively expanding sales channels across the customs and freight forwarding divisions
- Managing budgets effectively while prioritizing profit margins.
- Providing inspirational leadership to team members to seize sales opportunities.
- Collaborating with the marketing team to execute targeted European sales campaigns.
- Addressing objections effectively to maximize sales potential.
