- Will receive, store and oversee inventory control of Maintenance Department material, equipment, merchandise and supplies.
- Provides for the inspection of incoming maintenance material against purchase orders. Inspection to include the specification for correctness, identify apparent defects, and arrange for return of defective material.
- Each day accurately enter into the computer all purchase order receipts. Plan and coordinate the transfer of material from the receiving area to the Maintenance Storeroom area as well as transfer the items received for other departments and maintain proper records.
- Participate in periodic and special storeroom inventories, inventory physical counts, and reconcile computer systems for proper quantity on hand.
- Ensure that a secure area is maintained for all maintenance and plant use of parts. Organize area for maximum access and space utilization.
- Ensure that adequate planning takes place with the Maintenance Coordinator to minimize parts ordering and expediting on an emergency basis. Maintain working communications regarding MWO parts status. Ensure the storeroom promptly processes all requisitions for parts and supplies.
- Ensure that a safe workplace is maintained at all times. Ensure that all safety rules are followed.
- Ensure that the computer system is updated as to parts/assemblies, locations and usage levels.
- Analyze Machine Drawings and Plans and select machinist tools to verify that the parts for each drawing meet the specifications for each project. (I.e. Chrome Thickness, interior and exterior diameter, calibration, etc.)
- Have sufficient mechanical skills to work as an Operational Technician to assist the Maintenance Team during outages. This includes changing bearings, belts, inspect gear boxes, inspect parts for wear, and other tasks as needed.
- Must understand how to use power tools and fasteners such as skill saws and basic hand tools.
- Must understand the use of Maximo and PSFT. Maximo work orders will need to be entered for capturing your time.
- May work as a production operator and mechanical technician on the manufacturing line as needed and during shutdowns
- Keep safety in mind when performing all tasks. This would also include good housekeeping skills.
- Understand the plant’s safety permitting process
- Develop and understand mechanical maintenance skills
- Learn the daily mechanical planning process
- Learn and understand the production process
- Learn and become competent in the use of the various applications in Maximo to include planning, scheduling, inventory management and procurement
- Understand the reorder process and its impacts to financial planning
- Learn how to build maintenance shutdown schedules in MS Project
- Help implement and maintain the 5S program in the storeroom and storage areas
- Facilitate critical spares meetings
- Conduct contractor safety training, issue permits for contractors
- Collaborate with plant personnel to coordinate work-related activities. Train storeroom back-ups on all storeroom processes and procedures. Fill in for the Planner/Scheduler and Plant Buyer as needed.
- Plan and execute quarterly cycle counts to ensure storeroom inventory accuracy.
- Reconcile any discrepancies. Identify SMOOSI material and submit for write-off. Assist with AFCE tracking by writing work orders and updating the capital project spreadsheet.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience in Maintenance or Stores Department environment
- Experience operating forklifts
- Knowledge of computer systems and ability to learn new technology
