Kavaliro's client is seek a RPG Programmer in Jacksonville, FL. This person will play a pivotal role in crafting innovative solutions for the financial applications used by our owner operators and agents. As a member of this team, you'll be at the forefront of designing, developing, configuring, deploying, and supporting RPG solutions.You also will demonstrate proficiency in setting up and troubleshooting various communication protocols such as SFTP, AS2, and HTTPS. Your toolkit extends to encompass proficiency with Java, XPath, XSLT, SOAP, REST, SQL, and Linux, ensuring you are well-equipped to tackle the challenges and drive success in this dynamic role.Essential Responsibilities:
  • Work within a collaborative team environment to design, develop, QA, configure, deploy, and support technology solutions that meet business needs and adhere to department standards of design, quality, security, performance, automation, and low maintenance solutions.
  • Partner with product owners, business analysts, and other IT personnel to determine end-user needs.
  • Assist users by analyzing complex logic and communicating to the business using non-technical language.
  • Produce knowledge base documentation for the ongoing support of technology solutions.
  • Troubleshoot operational problems and restore to normal condition.
  • Maintain a 24/7 state of operational readiness.
  • Participate in requirements, story refinement, design, and code reviews.
  • Participate as an active learner of new technologies as introduced into the technology roadmap.
  • Research, Initiate, and lead execution of process and technical improvements.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience with RPG (RPGLE) IBMi development
  • 4+ years of experience with application development
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelors’ degree
  • 1+ years of Agile development practices
  • 1+ years experience in financial application development
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • IBMi RPG development language and business application software development.
  • IBMi systems environment.
  • IBMi legacy data files, logicals, and DB2 SQL databases.
  • Integrating the IBMi environment with other platforms.
  • Knowledge of Java JSF applications running on IBM WebSphere.
  • Knowledge of Stored Procedures, Restful API’s, JSON, Soap services, XML, and modern development tools.
  • Knowledge of common source control for RPG and Java build tools; Azure DevOps, Maven and GIT preferred.
