Position SummaryThe University of New Mexico's Project ECHO has an amazing opportunity for a DevOps Engineer to join our team! This individual will work collaboratively with the lead analyst and other team members to ensure our Security compliance process is effective. This engineer will play a key role in identifying and assessing security risks, accurately reporting findings, and implementing safeguards to protect our information.As a successful DevOps Engineer, you will play an active role in:
- Assisting with the process of developing, maintaining and updating a comprehensive Information Security Plan for ECHO Digital and iECHO in accordance with HSC InfoSec policies
- Working closely with US federal government security officials to ensure compliance with security regulations such as FISMA, FedRAMP, ISO and others
- Actively ensuring appropriate administrative, physical and technical safeguards are in place to protect Project ECHO's information assets from internal and external threats
- Identifying, introducing, and implementing appropriate procedures, including checks and balances, to test these safeguards on a regular basis
- Designing and maintaining user identity and access management for our software applications
- Monitoring usage to ensure compliance with security policies
- Developing and maintaining plans for disaster recovery and ensuring that emergency operating procedures are in place and tested on a regular basis
- Assisting with the security incident and vulnerability management processes to implementation and beyond
- Analyzing Project ECHO's strategic goals and suggests secure 3rd party solutions
- Assisting front-end development team as needed to resolve bugs, implement new functionality, or participate in product design.
- Specialty licensure/certification may be required, as specified by the department.
- Successful candidate may be subject to a criminal background check prior to starting work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using any or multiple of the following technologies/programming languages: Python, Golang, Docker, Kubernetes, Relational Databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL etc..), JavaScript, and PHP
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in a technical field, such as Computer Science, Cyber Security, or Information Systems or equivalent experience.
- Experience managing WordPress, LAMP, and Microservice architecture.
- Experience managing cloud infrastructure like AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.
- Comfortable with assisting with front-end development.
