There’s never been a better time to join us.We’re seeking a Software Engineer to join our Software Business Unit working on our market leading SaaS estate agency product Alto. This is a fast growing and exciting business going through change, where we have relationships with over 25,000 estate agent and developer customers across the UK.Who you are
  • Want to be involved in building a product where you know what is important to the customer
  • Keen to experiment with ways of working and have interest in trying something different (we are currently experimenting with Shape Up across our teams
  • Interested in serverless technologies for rapid development
  • Experience in strongly-typed languages (Our flagship product is written in C# but we have new services written in Typescript)
  • Keen working with relational (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases
  • More than ready to address challenges that may not always have a well-defined explanation or resolution.
  • Content to share your work at an early stage, be it a draft of a proposal or the minimum viable product of a feature intended for customers. You're willing to make your work public even when it's not fully polished.

  • Someone who wants to work on interesting challenges and who's able to actively make trade offs to make sure they're focussing on the most important thing. We often work in six week cycles with fixed time frames but variable scope.
  • We use the following tools and languages
  • AWS for our infrastructure.
  • Terraform for IaC
  • C# for the majority of our backend services with Typescript used for newer services
  • Typescript, React and Next.js for our frontend applications
  • AWS technologies for our distributed services (SQS, Eventbridge, Lambda)
  • Architectures used
  • Micro-Frontends (MFEs) for the front end
  • Microservices for our APIs where applicable (Not all our services are microservices, just where it makes sense)
  • Event-driven architecture using DDD and event storming to make our product more asynchronous
  • Stays updated with the latest industry trends to drive innovation for the organisation
  • Can own their own delivery independently or as part of a team.
