- Investigate and present a conclusion on technical matters, including one off queries, papers for the audit process and accounting papers throughout the year,
- Be the point of contact for advisors and auditors,
- Support the wider Group Financial reporting team on the delivery of the THG Group audit, interim and other reporting requirements, whilst leading on key areas of audit focus and complex accounting / audit matters,
- Preparation and review of subsidiary accounts and working papers for UK and overseas entities, in addition to review and challenge of statutory information provided by divisional teams,
- Opportunity to get involved with one off projects and drive large scale transactions on an ad hoc basis (such as corporate simplification projects),
- Bring ideas to the table of how we can transform and improve processes, controls and frameworks in a high growth, dynamic environment,
- Constantly challenge the status quo and lead on change / ways of working to improve systems and controls across the Group,
- Build strong networks across the business, regularly liaising with the divisional teams, legal teams and company secretarial team to obtain information and project manage fulfilment of audit responsibilities,
- Support the Head of Financial Reporting in the day to day management of the team and issue resolution,
- Report to the Head of Financial Reporting with regular interaction with the Group Finance Director and Group FP&A Director on key issues.
- Qualified Accountant with at least 5+ years post qualified experience. Ideal role however for first time mover from practice
- Understanding the principles of accounting and auditing, demonstrating a keen eye for detail and strong IFRS technical accounting experience
- Experience of working with large corporate and / or listed businesses preferred
- Strong communication skills as this will involve dealing with a wide range of stakeholders across the business
- An individual who is keen to build strong networks
- Understanding of financial controls framework, and process best practice
- Experience working within a fast-paced environment,
- Planning and organisational skills with proven ability to meet deadlines is essential,
- A confident mindset, comfortable in dealing with a wide range of key stakeholders.
