Emtec Fire Systems, part of the Emtec / Sauter group of companies are seeking a motivated and dynamic leader to join us in the role of Operations Director based at our offices in Uddingston where we deliver projects and maintenance services to a variety of clients throughout Scotland. As a leading contractor within the fire and security industry specialising in the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of Sprinkler systems, we are committed to excellence in all aspects of our operations.In the role of Operations Director – Fire Sprinkler Systems you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Fire Sprinkler Systems Business. You will play a crucial role in propelling business growth and nurturing team development. You’ll assume full financial control of the business, formulate strategic and operational objectives, and improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices and will also be instrumental in achieving planned business volume and growth.Current and upcoming projects cover public and private sectors including industrial, commercial, education, hotel, and residential projects with values between £10k and £2M.The Role
  • Assume full financial control of the business, delivering the work efficiently and profitably.
  • Formulate strategic and operational objectives for the business.
  • Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practice.
  • Manage and oversee site-based teams to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Lead and mentor your team, fostering a culture of motivation and development.
  • Establish and set firm financial targets to meet established objectives, which will include the reporting of financial status to the Commercial Manager.
  • Cultivate strong customer relationships delivering exceptional levels of service.
  • Identify new opportunities through existing customer base.
  • Provide technical expertise to the customer and site-based teams utilising central departments, specialist suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Offer training and support as needed to enhance the overall effectiveness and success of the business.
What you will need to succeed
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the sprinkler industry
  • Familiarity with operating within an LPCB accredited company and adhering to associated procedures.
  • Proficiency in managing and maintaining ISO 9001:2015 quality systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of sprinkler standards, including LPC Rules such as BSEN12485, BS9251, FM Global & NFPA.
  • Engineering knowledge of piping systems

  • LPCB qualifications
  • Practical experience of Autodesk products
  • Proficient in using FHC software packages
