- Allocates hours, and authorizes payment of work through timecard system.
- Oversees the care, maintenance, scheduling, use, and management of athletic facilities, fields and equipment.
- Coordinates transportation, sale and distribution of tickets, banquets and awards, training room operations, athletic team schedules, school athletic calendar, student insurance requests, operation of vending machines and concessions, and play-off events.
- Provides publicity for athletic and activity programs
- Ensures the scheduling of referees to officiate home games and payment for services rendered.
- Maintains athletic team and season records.
- Determines student eligibility.
- Acts as liaison for students, staff, and parents to help facilitate consistent communication with school personnel and district office.
- Attends various District and out-of-District meetings as required.
- Administers assigned KingCo League, District and State sport(s) on rotating basis; acts as committee member; assists with problem-solving within league.
- Co-administers ASB budget, approves purchase orders, in collaboration with Activities Coordinator.
- Depending on school assignment, oversees student activities, student store and vending machines.
- Coordinates the grade reporting process for athletic eligibility purposes
- Coordinates the school's master activities calendar. Insures that all school activities including athletic events, guest speakers and field trips are placed on the calendar.
- Insures that custodians are scheduled to open and close the facilities and insures the cleanliness of the buildings when buildings are used for various activities.
- Submits maintenance requisition forms when necessary to repair furniture or other equipment.
- Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
- Reports directly to and is supervised by District Athletics and Activities Director.
- Works closely with building administration.
- Bachelor's degree in secondary education, business education, recreation or related field.
- Preferred:
- Head coaching experience preferred;
- Three years high school coaching experience preferred.
- Experience as a coach or advisor in high school activities program.
- Experience in or awareness of local social service agencies and social work.
- First Aid and CPR training.
- Knowledge of a variety of sports and school activities.
- Knowledge of the care and purchase of equipment.
- Ability to communicate and work with parents, teachers, students and the community.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form to students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to establish and maintain a good working relationship with coaches, staff, custodians, facilities and maintenance people.
- Ability to give guidance and suggestions to coaching staff and training workshops.
- Ability to make informed decisions.
- Ability to plan, assign, supervise, and coordinate work.
- Ability to work collaboratively under the direction of the school administration.
- Ability to work in a team, set shared goals, and execute them with a degree of independence.
- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Drug/alcohol awareness training.
- Organization and time management skills.
- Successful experience working with high-risk high-school-age students of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds in an firm, positive, and constructive manner.
- Ability to perform all duties in accordance with applicable Board policies and District and Legal requirements.
- Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations.
