- Demonstrate leadership, direction, and accountability for leading, coaching and managing direct reports to ensure achievements of business objectives and personal development.
- Development and implementation of the medical affairs strategy and plan for assigned therapeutic areas, including RWE and account specific HEOR projects.
- Lead and support the development of external relationships with relevant medical societies and key stakeholders.
- Close collaboration with the Patient advocacy team to develop relationships and partnerships with relevant Patient association groups.
- Demonstrate strong business acumen to ensure the medical affairs strategy enables the achievement of Alpine priorities.
- Collaboration with clinical operations and medical advisor pipeline (MAP) to support the performance of clinical study feasibility, effective study implementation and ongoing management of trials, including disease registries in Alpine.
- Maintain strong knowledge of Alexion therapeutic areas, current developments, and competitive environment.
- Attend appropriate national and international meetings and congresses.
- Support local Market Access activities and reimbursement applications
- Maintain knowledge about local laws and guidelines, codes of practices and Alexion policies relevant to medical affairs activities.
- Spend time in the field to provide appropriate support and coaching to the medical team (30 % expected)
- Medical degree (M.D.) or pharmacist or advanced degree in medical science (PhD in a scientific or related field and/or equivalent experience)
- German is a must, French a plus.
- 7+ years-experience in the pharmaceutical or the biotech industry: rare disease experience is plus.
- At least 3 years of People Leadership experience
- Experience as a medical affairs manager or medical therapeutic area lead
- Strong x-functional collaboration mindset
- Knowledge of at least one of the Alpine market access & regulatory requirements
- Ability to manage all aspects of medical affairs responsibilities on regional as well as country level.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both local language and in English
- Willing to travel
- Strategic thinking, very good planning skills and budget management
- Experience in leading/implementing local RWE studies.
- Experience with new product launches
- Ability to work in a high pace environment.
