- Your principal role is to implement, deliver and maintain a suitable automated software testing strategy, working closely with the Software QA and Development teams in order to improve the product quality and test coverage of Traka Web, Traka Touch and Integration
- Tests and to reduce the amount of manual testing.
- The strategy will comprise of developing and maintaining new frameworks and maintenance of the existing framework, tools, training and processes within Traka Technology.
- Determine & prioritise implementation roadmaps of automated software test coverage including core and extended software functionalities, identifying the key areas to focus on initially across the varying technologies.
- Maintain the repositories and matrices of features and functions
- Supporting existing QA team members within the automation capability.
- Analyse user stories and define automated test scripts to ensure sufficient test coverage or both core and extended functionality.
- Executing automation tests and validating test results.
- Identify training needs for yourself and the automation team and other QAs and work closely with the QA Co-ordinator and QA Manager to arrange the training programme you have identified.
- Identify, analyse, and document any defects discovered during testing.
- Duties may also include developing software test tools, testing simulations.
- Liaise and inform relevant departments and stakeholders of progress as required
- Manage all processes associated with effective automated software testing, ensuring that they are continuously monitored and that changes to improve quality and efficiency are identified and implemented.
- Ensure to keep visibility and communication active with your team leaders and management with regard to the automation strategy progress.
- Develop KPIs and Reporting Metrics to show the overall automated test coverage and metrics to show the outcome over time such as showing the number of issues found per release.

- Proven experience of Selenium Web Driver + Selenium 4 test automation
- Strong exposure of implementing frameworks and working in Java based code within
- Used to working in an environment where you can test against code using various source control solutions (Git etc.)
- Experience of writing Java code.
- Strong understanding and appreciation of test automation principles.
- Demonstratable practical experience in product/software testing and quality assurance engineering.
- Good knowledge of the software development and software testing lifecycles.
- Experience with testing cross browser, cross device and desktop-based applications locally and via integration to external tools.
- Working in an Agile software development environment (Scrum).
- Administrative experience with Windows based Operating Systems (client and server).
- Proven experience using SQL Server and writing advanced SQL queries.
- Experience with the Zephyr test case management system.
- Experience with the Jira issue management system.
- Installing and configuring virtual environments.
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI (ReadyAPI) or similar software.
- Experience of determining software behaviours.
- ISEB, ISTQB, or other relevant qualifications/experience.
- Experience of testing physical products and their interaction with software applications.
- Experience of distributed software architectures.
