- Financial Strategy Development: Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): Lead the FP&A function, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to support strategic decision-making and resource allocation. Analyze financial performance metrics and KPIs to evaluate the company's financial health and performance against targets. Provide insights and recommendations for improving profitability and operational efficiency. Stay up to date on market and industry trends.
- Financial Operations: Streamline financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Implement best practices in financial operations, including accounting, billing, collections, and expenditures.
- Trusted Advisors to Artist Managers: Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with artist managers, serving as their primary financial point of contact and providing them with timely, relevant, and actionable financial insights and recommendations. Collaborate closely with artist managers to understand their unique needs, goals, and challenges, and develop tailored financial solutions and strategies to support their success.
- Contract and Information Management: Review, interpret and document all new artist contracts. Identify and highlight any anomalies. Analyze receipts ensuring compliance with financial terms.
- Leadership and Team Development: This role relies on corporate shared services to support the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and accounting functions. Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Treasury Management: Manage the organization's cash flow, liquidity, and capital structure. Implement effective treasury strategies to optimize working capital, mitigate financial risks, and maximize investment returns.
- Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to management and artist managers ensuring compliance with GAAP. Oversee the preparation of quarterly financial reporting package. Maintain accurate and detailed financial records, supporting documentation, and audit trails.
- Audit and Tax: Partner with our external tax advisors to ensure compliance with federal, state and local tax regulations. Prepare accurate quarterly forecasts with a sensitivity to tax implications. Manage the interim and annual financial audit.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field: MBA and/or relevant professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is strongly preferred.
- 5 or more years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, with a track record of increasing responsibility in a corporate environment or relevant industry.
- Music and/or entertainment industry experience preferred but not required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage senior executives, artist managers, business managers, and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analyze complex financial data, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
