Position: Teacher of GeographyLocation: Enfield, North LondonSalary: £34,514 - £51,179 (MPS / UPS – Outer London)Contract Type: Permanent, full timeStart Date: Sept 2024About the roleVision for Education are proud to be working in partnership with a multi academy trust in North London to recruit a Teacher of Geography for one of their secondary schools. Teachers of Geography who are passionate about delivering high quality lessons that are creative and vibrant are warmly welcomed to apply.The successful candidate will work collaboratively within the welcoming humanities department delivering the existing fully resourced curriculum within the school. This role requires someone with excellent communication skills who is able to work collaboratively with the Head Teacher, SLT, and department. Ability to and experience of teaching Travel & Tourism at BTEC Award level is desirable but not essential.Responsibilities of this Teacher of Geography role include:
  • To plan and prepare effective teaching schemes and lessons under direction from the Head of Department and within the context of the school curriculum
  • To fully implement all school policies for creating a culture of high expectations
  • To provide pastoral support to a tutor group
  • To maintain regular and productive communication with pupils, parents, and carers, to report on progress, sanctions, and rewards and all other communications
  • To use regular assessments to set targets for pupils, monitor pupil progress towards individual targets and respond accordingly to the results of such monitoring.

  • Teaching qualification with QTS / QTLS (essential)
  • Evidence of being, or having the potential to be, an outstanding teacher of Geography
  • Experience teaching BTEC Travel & Tourism (desirable)
  • Knowledge of curriculum with a proven ability to differentiate effectively
  • Ability to establish and maintain high quality planning and recording
  • Good inter-personal, communication, planning and organisational skills.
