- Liaise with staff and other relevant professionals and provide information about pupils as appropriate.
- Plan, Prepare and deliver specified learning activities to individuals, small groups and/or classes modifying and adapting activities as necessary under the direction and supervision of a teacher.
- Develop independence in our SEN students using metacognitive strategies to help them become self-regulated learners
- Take small group intervention sessions.
- Provide pastoral care to pupils, supporting pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate.
- Confidence, enthusiasm and a passion for learning.
- Excellent English skills (clear written and spoken English) along with good reading, writing and numeracy skills.
- The ability to build good working relationships with children, teachers, parents and carers.
- Experience of working with children with Special Education Needs (SEN), particularly Secondary children on the Autism Spectrum.
- The ability to manage a small group of children with complex social communication needs.
- The ability to promote positive behaviour in a nurturing environment is essential.
