Technical Writer - Temporary Intern

- Plan, develop, organize, write and edit software user guides and standard processes and procedures, workflows, and other user-facing documentation for a wide range of internal and externally-facing applications
- Design, create, and maintain documentation templates
- Analyze and edit documents to maintain continuity of style and content with a focus on clarity, impact, flow, meaning, and readability
- Manage updates and revisions to documents
- Consult with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on changes being released that may affect their internal processes
- Provide creative visual aids/illustrative aspects to documents to assist users in their understanding. This can include screenshots, callouts, and workflow diagrams
- Bachelor's degree (or one in progress) or commensurate experience in Engineering, Information Technology, Communications, English or related field
- 1+ years of related experience in software, business or other technical writing
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written & oral communication skills, including the ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles, factoring in multiple audiences
- Experience with topic-based writing
- Experience working with IT Engineering/Development, QA, and other technical resources is desirable
- Experience working with Business Users/End Users to determine their needs
- Business Analysis/Requirements documentation experience (BRD, FRD, Design Documents) is desirable
- Experienced in use of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google for Work products (Docs, Sheets, Slides) is required
- Working knowledge of Visio or similar workflow diagramming application
- Working knowledge of JIRA/Confluence
- Skilled at prioritization and multitasking while maintaining strong attention to detail
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision during assigned tasks
