The Mechanical engineer must support the design, development, prototype, first-article inspection, and qualification of various electrical subsystems and integrated components. This support may include but is not limited to, the following aspects.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Responsible for Requirements, Design, implementation, test, and integration of design in accordance with the higher-level Requirement and - Design specifications/architectures.
Project coordination with customer engineering and supplier engineer during the design review and detailed design phases
Rework coordination with the supplier on the existing design changes to meet the new design requirement
Tolerance stack-up analysis and GD&T
Drawing release (Drawings, OMS) for Proto order
Proto build - form, fit, and function
Test plan preparation
Document & BOM release in EDOC / Enovia
Able to work independently to Design Mechanical design and power distribution systems for semiconductor metrology instruments
Able to work independently to Integrate and test subsystems
Able to work independently to Design tools/fixtures for manufacturing and field services
Defines, executes, and takes the lead in concept and feasibility studies with a limited scope to investigate the usability of new technologies.
Ensures the mutual consistency and efficient integration of the separate modules in modular, easy-to-maintain units that meet the product specification
Determines the Unit interfaces (HW/SW) in close consultation with relevant disciplines.
Ensures that there is proper documentation for his/her design.
Contributes to the Work Breakdown Structure/ the planning process of his/her area.
Draws up a personal schedule and reports on progress
Performs work in line with the processes agreed upon in the department.Work ExperienceJob Requirements
Education Qualification: Masters/Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering or other relevant discipline
Work Experience: Experience 6 to 10 years
Requirements/Skills
Sound knowledge of CAD tools like Creo, Auto CAD, and (CAD/simulation) used in Mechanical design.
Sound knowledge of sheet metal and Weldments
Sound knowledge of the manufacturing process for Sheet metal and Fabrication
Sound knowledge of Manufacturing drawing requirements
Knowledge of production process implementation
Experience in the semiconductor equipment industry or medical equipment industry is preferred. Initiate and validate detailed analysis reports including structural analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), thermal analysis, heat transfer, stress, vibrations, fluid and gas flow dynamics, and manufacturability to properly verify new and existing designs.
Strong diagnostic skills and capable of resolving Mechanical issues related to Design Clearances and Manufacturing.
Experience in safety-related regulatory compliance
Preferably with 5 or more years of experience in the wafer fabrication process industry
Knowledge of Mechanical component Testing
Knowledge of HW/SW interfaces.
Knowledge of Mechanical- Electric interface.
Good command of English (both written and verbal).
