- Assists with static, dynamic design, and analysis of electro-mechanical components
- Performs design verification on original and/or derivative design by collecting empirical data through experimental methods. Manipulate and synthesize the data to make design recommendations based off of the testing
- Participates in feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Work closely with support personnel (technicians and drafting teams) in the preparation of detailed technology selection, conceptual design, detail design and prototyping
- Coordinates failure analysis investigations and engineering evaluations
- Has a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, mechanics, fluid, thermo and heat transfer
- A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
- Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
- Equipment maintenance and calibration
- Design, build and testing of new production equipment
- Mechanical design using SolidWorks
- Support the design, build and testing of new products
- Creating BOM’s, work instruction and test procedures
- Maintain product documentation (drawings and specifications)
- Support production in implementing new layouts and procedures
- Willing to practice and enhance your new skills to achieve the regular training and development goals.
- HNC/HND or equivalent with some relevant work experience.
- Experience of CAD package, ideally SolidWorks or equivalent.
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
- You should have an eye for detail and understand the importance of checking your work rigorously.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing environment and display a genuine interest in the industry.
- Ideally live within, or willing to relocate to, an easily commutable distance of our Leicester office.
