Axcis Education are looking to work with Psychology students/graduates who are interested to work as a teaching assistants with SEND pupils. We are looking to work with students or graduates based in South Gloucestershire or Gloucestershire who are keen to work in child psychology, social work or psychotherapy in the future. Axcis education require teaching assistants to work with schools on either a part or full time basis and we can also assist with your placement year as part of your course should you require. We have exciting opportunities working in schools as a SEND teaching assistant where you will do the following: - You will be able to build relationships with pupils that need 1-1 support in the classroom. - You will support their development, be in communication with the school's SENCO and build professional relationships with important staff that may be interested in building your career after graduating. - You will also work alongside the main teacher following their lesson plans, leading 1-1 activities and following school policies in behaviour management. If you are looking to start your career in education whilst also utilising the skills you have developed in psychology then working as a SEND teaching assistant is an excellent place to start and you will be working with a broad range of SEND pupils including ASD, ADHD and SEMH pupils in either mainstream or SEND schools.
