1st Shift Hours - 5:30 am – 4:00 pmA day in the life…As a Box Plant Operator, you will operate machinery, equipment, and tools in a safe and efficient manner. You will maintain changes in product line and set up equipment in accordance with the requirements. Mechanical skills are required, and performing clean-up activities are assigned. May be asked to work in other parts of the facility.What you will be doing…
  • To ensure box machinery is fed raw stock and boxes are produced in proper quantities and standards.
  • Feed box paper and tape into machinery.
  • Set and maintain glue levels.
  • Fix jammed materials.
  • Tools used are hand tools, box machinery.
  • Materials and products used are cardboard and glue.
  • May be assigned other duties by plant management as required.
  • Employee Supervision Standards: Extent of supervision required.
  • Employee performs assigned task given specific instructions; progress is checked periodically.
  • Employee proceeds alone on routine tasks following standard instructions. Refers all questionable situations to immediate supervisor.
  • Employees may arrange their own work but carry out work under specified standards. Is presumed to know routine work details and performance standards of the job. Refers to supervision only when in serious doubt as to the procedure.

  • Must have ability to routinely and frequently stand, stoop, bend, climb and lift to meet requirements.
  • Must have ability to perform math functions.
  • Must have the ability to routinely lift 50lbs.
  • Body strain from repeated motion.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.

  • 2 Years Manufacturing Experience
  • 1 Years Machine Operator
What it’s like at the Russell Stover Plants
  • Safety. Your safety is important to us, so we provide protective gear. We also go through in-depth Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) training on your first day and continue to share safety tips daily.
  • Surroundings. You’ll be working around different machines – Schubert’s, forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and chocolate candy banks/steels.
  • Activity. Some activities may require standing in one place for long periods, walking around, or climbing stairs/ladders, and routinely lifting 50 lbs.
  • Temperature. You will be comfortable year-round with our climate-controlled environment. Our temperatures are consistently around 63°F but could fluctuate depending on your specific role.
  • Smell. You will enjoy a variety of deliciously sweet aromas and you may end your day smelling like chocolate!
  • Dress code. Relaxed, with a few rules to follow for food safety, personal safety and guidance with our good manufacturing practices (GMP). Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required. Leather, imitation leather, rubber boots or shoes must be worn in the kitchen and other areas when working around hot liquid/product or hot water.
