Role: Quality EngineerLocation: West Midlands, on-siteSalary: 36,000- 42,000k (DOE)I have an amazing opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join the team at a well-established foundry since 1936 based in the West Midlands.   • Support APQP and NPI activity within the machine shop.
  • Generate PPAP documentation as per customer request during NPI.
  • Support customer 8D / CAR expectations and interact with customers and manufacturing processes to ensure successful problem resolution and prevention of recurrence.
  • Review and analysis of daily scrap data plus updating of metric display boards and QOS reports.
  • Support and oversee internal and external calibration processes.
  • Build on in-house calibration procedures and processes to reduce dependence on external calibration laboratories.
  • Perform internal process audits and daily process compliance inspections to ensure compliance against outlined requirements and defined procedures.
  • Prepare work instructions for both production and quality requirements.
  • Provide quality related training and mentoring for shop floor personnel.
  • Create new CMM programs to support both NPI activity and existing parts.
  • Perform patrol type inspections and pre-dispatch inspection to ensure customers are protected from known/historic issues and look to support production processes to prevent recurrence (BIQ)
  • Where required, support shop floor inspections and goods inwards inspections to ensure smooth operations ahead of dispatch.
What do you need to be the successful Quality Engineer?
  • 3 years minimum of working experience as a Quality Engineer.
  • A great understanding of AQQP, FMEA, Control Okan, SPC and MSA is required.
  • CMM Programming knowledge- working with PC- DMIS software.
  • Well organised, attention to detail and able to work under pressure.
  • Computer literate.
  • Must be able to prove right to work in the UK.
